Description

We humans share more of our DNA in common with mushrooms than we do with plants. The compounds that mushrooms create directly support human health in a multitude of ways.

Brain Health Support
These incredibly unique compounds have the phenomenal ability to cross the blood-brain barrier and help to stimulate the normal production of proteins called Nerve Growth Factor (NGF), brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and synaptophysin (SYP).
NGF, BDNF and SYP are neuropeptides that are responsible for promoting healthy neuronal communication, neuron structure and overall health of the brain and nervous system.

This means that Lion’s Mane mushroom is a strong ally in supporting healthy memory, focus, recall, clarity, attention and creativity.

Digestive & Immune Health
Lion’s Mane Mushroom may support digestive health thanks to its strong free radical scavenging effects throughout the intestinal lining of the gut. The mushroom can also support immune function and encourage the growth of good bacteria within the gut.

Did You Know?

There’s a debate between the validity of mycelial based powders and mushroom powders.

Our Lion’s Mane Mushroom powder (Hercium erinaceus) is unique in that it occupies a specific middle ground in the debate that exists between the validity of mycelial based powders and fruiting body (mushroom) based powders.

In essence, the concern that exists with mycelial based powders is that an excessive amount of residual substrate (organic  brown rice) is left in the final product due to an inefficient conversion of the base material into fungal biomass by the strain and species selected.

The compromised powder in question is left, giving the end consumer a low amount of active constituents, and a high amount of inactive starch powder. This is a significant issue in the industry as a whole and is a valid concern to consumers.

Our Process

Not all strains of a given mushroom species are created equal.

Our cultivation techniques, strain selection, and commitment to quality ensure that each and every batch is grown to maximum colonization in our laboratories.

This ensures a majority of our organic base substrate is converted into fungal biomass by our superior strains with artful attention to the detail of growth.

Our darker colored powder is the result of this process and gives visual representation of the presence of active constituents.

Closely observing strain performance over time while taking many proprietary variables into consideration renders a product which contains markedly more active constituents than other leading brands.

An average producer will process colonized materials at a 4 - 6 week mark, which ensure a maximum finished powder weight and unfortunately also ensure a minimum of fungal biomass and active constituents.

Our process runs at least 10 weeks, and depending on the species, often runs as long as 12 - 16 weeks. This creates a rich and industry defining product that customers can rely upon and trust.

Why We're Different

Our extended cultivation procedure set us apart…

Our Organic Lion's Mane powder, in particular, features a remarkable amount of fruiting body (at times in excess of 20% by volume).

This is uniquely possible in our cultivation procedures, due to our systematic vetting of wild harvested strains, and the length of time we allow our cultures to have access to fruiting conditions.

A dynamic mixture of mycelium and fruiting body is advantageous to health in general, but in the case of Lion's Mane, it is especially beneficial.

A significant body of research exists extolling the virtues of the active compounds contained in both the mycelium of Lion's Mane (Erinacines) and the active compounds contained in the fruiting body (Hericenones).

Frequently Asked Questions

Our powders go perfect in smoothies, juices, cereal and are especially delicious in yogurts. 2 grams per serving and 1-2 servings per day.

The serving size of our Lion’s Mane Mushroom is 1 scoop (approximately 2 grams) and there are 30 servings per container.

Due to the extensive growing and cultivation process we use, our powders are less “dry” than other mushroom powders available.

The darker color of our powders result due to the extended growing process and the abundant presence of different active constituents. This is a good thing and is a visual representation of a strong product.
